Obituary For Bonnie L. Brody

KEWANEE – Bonnie L. Brody, 73, a resident of Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, formerly of Kewanee, died at 11:44 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the center.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 24 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25 at the funeral home with Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born November 13, 1949, in Kewanee, the daughter of John and Helen (Hand) Nelson. Survivors include her twin sister, Connie Erickson of Kewanee, two brothers, Bob (Judy) Nelson of Bloomington, IL and Ron (Joni) Nelson of Jacksonville, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Tom and her niece, Melissa Nelson.

Bonnie graduated from Kewanee High School in 1970. She worked as a caregiver at Leisure Hills Nursing Home and mainly for Helen’s Boarding Home. She had also worked for Eiler’s Sandwich Shop, Becks and Dollar Tree. Bonnie enjoyed music and singing and loved being around people and taking care of them. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.

    I grew up with Bonnie. I knew her family. She Loved giving me a hard time, everytime I saw her. She was a sweet heart. Bob, Connie , Ronnie & family I am very sorry for your loss. God Bless, Ed, & Becky Behnke
