Obituary For Beverly Moon
Kewanee, IL - Beverly Moon, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1945, in Kewanee, the daughter of Edward and Frances (Craig) Golden. She graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1963. She married Darrel W. Moon at the Methodist Church in Kewanee on October 27, 1963. Beverly spent her 81 years cultivating a life rooted in faith, hard work, and an immense love for her family.
Beverly’s life was guided by her commitment to the First Baptist Church, where she was an active and cherished member of the congregation. Her faith was the cornerstone of her character, evident in the kindness and compassion that she extended to everyone she met.
Professionally, Beverly was a familiar face in the community through her dedicated years of service at Boss Manufacturing and Carson Pirie Scott. She took great pride in her work and valued the many lifelong friendships she formed throughout her career.
She enjoyed spending her time playing tennis, golfing at Baker Park, and playing cards, especially euchre.
To Beverly, family was her greatest treasure. She shared a profound and lasting bond with her beloved husband, Darrel, and was a source of constant support and pride for her two sons, Steven and Kirk.
She also shared a special, lifelong closeness with her sisters, Sharon and Sue. Whether sharing a quiet conversation or a joyful family gathering, Beverly’s happiest moments were those spent surrounded by those she loved most.
Beverly is survived by husband, Darrel Moon; sons, Steven (Brooke) Moon of Kewanee and Kirk (Sherry) Moon of Kewanee; grandchildren, Ethan Moon of Raleigh, NC and Olivia Moon of Nashville, TN; five step grandchildren; ten step-great grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; brother-in-law, Dwaine Moon; sisters, Sharon Franklin and Sue (Don) Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
Beverly’s legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, sisters, and the many friends who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength of character, and her unwavering devotion to her home and her church.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 – 12:00, Friday, May 15, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, the funeral will follow at 12:00 pm at the church. Pastor Randy Hroziencik will officiate. A private burial will take place at a later date at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
