Obituary For Barbra J. Kraklow

Toulon – Barbra J. Kraklow, 85, of Toulon, passed away at 10:38 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Barbra was born on March 1, 1938, in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Opal (Neal) Ruggles. She married Allan Kraklow on May 17, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church in Taylor Ridge. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2022.

Surviving are her four children, Linda (Brian) Moran of Waterford, WI, Karen Kraklow, Steven (Sheri) Kraklow, and Paula (Michael) Leezer all of Toulon; 13 grandchildren, Paul (Stephanie), Kevin (Tess), Matthew (Leanne), Stephanie (Richard), Megan (Kevin), Shania, Jaclyn (Phil), Jamie (Cody), Joshua, Sarah, Nicholas (Allison), Jenny (Jeremy), and Lacey; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; seven siblings, Billy (Janice) Ruggles, Bonnie Doss, Wanda (Pat Hynes) White, Martha (Dennis) Bedford, Neal (Vicky) Ruggles, David Criswell, and Mary Ruggles; and is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren, Mark, Zachary, and Samantha; one great-grandchild, Taylor; and siblings, Carroll Powell, Burris (Gloria) Ruggles, Robert (Rita) Ruggles, Betty Criswell, and Keith Ruggles.

Barbra graduated from Aledo High School in 1956 and was the last graduate when attendance centers were created. She was a member of Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church before becoming a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kewanee in 1960. Barbra was active in church as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer, finance committee, Women of Christ, and Bible Study Circle. Barbra owned The Corner Shop and worked at FBFM in Toulon. She was a 4H leader, farm bureau women’s committee member, Toulon Lafayette School Board member and a charter member of the Stark County Genealogy Society. Barbra loved to host family reunions, work in the yard, and help on the farm.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee. Rev. Burnell Eckardt will officiate. Her visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at Haskell Funeral and Cremation Services in Wyoming. Burial will be at Toulon Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee, or Stark County Genealogy Society. Condolences may be left for Barbra’s family on her tribute wall at www.haskellfuneral.com.

    STEVE, I AM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOM. SHE AND I WOULD STAND AND TALK ALL THE TIME. THE LAST TIME I HAD THE HONOR OF CHATTING WITH YOUR MOM WAS BEFORE CHRISTMAS AT FARM KING. SHE WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL LADY. MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.
