Alta “Michelle” Gunawan, 60, of Neponset, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria. Michelle was born June 21, 1963, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Larry and Alta Anne (Brown) Wisenburg. Michelle married Rusly Gunawan on December 14, 1985, in Clarkstown, GA; he survives.

Michelle is also survived by three children, Alta Lauren (Niki) Gunawan, VA, Chris (Cassie) Gunawan, GA, Eva (Matthew Folkenroth) Gunawan, WI; two grandchildren, Christopher and Zoey Gunawan, GA; half-sister, Stacy McCrosky, IL; brother, Steven (Carol) Wisenburg, GA; niece and nephew, Tish Thayer and William Wisenburg. She was preceded in death by her dad, Larry.

Michelle worked as a nurse for Good Samaritan, Geneseo. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Zion Lutheran Church. Michelle enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling. Michelle enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up.

Order of the Eastern Star Service will be at 6:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Friday, March 8, 2024, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Rusly Gunawan for a memorial to be established.
