Abilities Plus recently accepted a donation from the Galva, Cambridge and Woodhull Knights of Columbus #12286.

The donation comes from the organization’s annual fall Tootsie Roll Drive. According to the Knights of Columbus website, the drive benefits persons with developmental disabilities and has existed since 1970. The 2024 drive took place in May and Knights of Columbus members, dressed in bright yellow vests, fanned out across communities stationing themselves at supermarkets and other businesses.

The donation was for $1615.80 and the check was presented to Derick Carlock by KOC members Rich DeSchepper and Don Rogers.

A spokesperson for Abilities Plus said the generous donation from the club was much appreciated.
