The Kewanee DAR Chapter house got a facelift this weekend with the help of the Kewanee High School Key Club members. The students worked hard to get the chapter house looking its best.
Eleven Key Club members, club sponsor Amy Miler, Jeff and Pam Johnson from the Kewanee Kiwanis Club, all withstood the warm temperatures to stain the exterior on Sunday, Aug. 4.

The DAR Chapter house was originally built circa 1850 across from what is now Good’s Furniture. It was donated to the newly formed Kewanee DAR Chapter by the Masons in 1904 and moved to its current location on Park Avenue.
“The chapter members are grateful for KHS Key Clubs’ willingness to help promote historic preservation in our community,” said Betsy Tocha, member of the Kewanee DAR.
