Kewanee police blotter for June 19

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up and a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of Lake Street.

An animal at large, dog or domestic, was reported in the 900 block of Lake Street.

Retail theft/shoplifting was reported in the 200 block of North East Street.

A damage-only traffic accident was reported in the 800 block of Dewey Avenue.

Disorderly conduct, disturbing another’s peace was reported in the 800 block of West Division Street.

Police responded to a report of a dog or domestic animal at large in the 400 block of East Church Street.

A suspicious noise was reported in the 100 block of West College Street.

A parking complaint was made in the 200 block of North Walnut Street.

April E. Starr, 45, Kewanee, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of larceny after police responded to a report of criminal trespass to state-supported-land in the 700 block of East Second Street. She posted bond and was released.

Cruel treatment/abuse and neglect of an animal was reported in the 1300 block of June Street.

A sick/injured animal was taken to the pound from the 1200 block of West Prospect Street.

Police and ambulance responded to an emergency call in the 100 block of North Washington Avenue. CPR was initiated.

Andrew W. Szparkowski, 33, Toulon, was arrested for resisting a peace officer and retail theft after police received a report of retail theft/concealing/removing beyond the pay station in the 700 block of Tenney Street. He was given a notice to appear in court.

Rachel L. Knott, 34, Kewanee, was arrested for retail theft after police responded to a report of theft/conceal/remove beyond pay station in the 700 block of Tenney Street. She was given a notice to appear in court.

Cassandra J. Barnes, 34, Kewanee, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear for possession of methamphetamine following a check of a residence in the 600 block of North Chestnut Street. She was transported to Henry County Jail.

A complaint of theft by a juvenile was reported in the 600 block of Cole Street. No arrest was made.

A vehicle operated by Arnie Cordrey, 79, Kewanee, struck a pole in the 700 block of South Main Street. Cordrey was taken to OSF St. Luke Medical Center by Kewanee EMS and cited for DUI A2, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was given a notice to appear in court.
