KEWANEE WEATHER

It’s Country week at Galva Levitt AMP Music Series

By The Kewanee Voice    June 24, 2025

Another great night of music is in store this weekend at the Levitt AMP Galva Music Series at Wiley Park in Galva. Galva Arts Council announced Angela Meyer and Rye Davis will be the featured entertainers this Sunday, June 29.

Angela Meyer keeps her audiences coming back to share in the human experience through her honest writing and dynamic performances. She innately understands being in the audience as she grew up in a family of country musicians and fans of the genre.

At 10 years old, her grandparents gave her a guitar for Christmas and her Grandma Darlene taught her those first three chords to play along with the songs coming out of their record player. Angela started to write her own songs at fifteen and quickly made it into her career. “Legions & Legends” is Angela Meyer’s latest release and can be found anywhere music is bought or streamed.

Rye Davis is a modern-day troubadour from Pig, Kentucky. His smooth, distinctive vocals, captivating songs and live show energy bring his brand of country music to a whole new generation of growing listeners who never knew what country could be. Armed with a can-do attitude and determination, Davis stands as a beacon of hope for the return of real, down-home music.

Every Sunday through August 3, this family-friendly concert series brings free live music to Wiley Park in Galva. All concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end around 8:30 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable lawn seating. A variety of food and non-food vendors will be on-site, and guests are also welcome to bring in outside food.

Event info:

–Street parking is available around the park and surrounding areas. Please do not park in the park.
–New this year, handicap-accessible seating is located in the northwest corner of the park, with a designated unloading zone and golf cart shuttle service available for assistance.
–Those with golf carts/UTVs are asked to keep their vehicles on the perimeter of the audience to prevent blocking the view of guests and minimize the risk of accidents while driving through the park.

The Levitt AMP Galva Music Series is supported by many community sponsors, donors, and volunteers, and the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a private foundation that empowers towns and cities across America to transform underused public spaces into thriving destinations through the power of free, live music.
