Galva police report for Sept. 22-28

Sept. 22:

Police assisted the Kewanee Police Department with an interview in the 400 block of NE 1st Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 400 block of NW 2nd Avenue. It was determined to be a misdial.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer was unable to locate the animal.

An abandoned bicycle was located in the 300 block of North Center Avenue.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 500 block of NW 8th Avenue. The officer was unable to locate the animal.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 800 block of NW 5th Avenue. The dog was located and returned to its owner.

Police conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue and found the subject to be fine.

Sept. 23:

Police assisted a citizen in the 600 block of SW 2nd Avenue.

Police assisted the Kewanee Police Department with an interview in the 100 block of NW 8th Avenue.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of NE 1st Street.

Sept. 24:

Police responded to a scam report in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street.

Police assisted a motorist in the 100 block of SE 6th Street.

Sept. 25:

Police, along with the Galva Fire Department, escorted the Abilities Plus caravan to Wiley Park for their annual picnic.

Police responded to a two-car crash with damage only in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street. A crash report was completed.

Police responded to a possible violation of an order of protection in the 600 block of NW 5th Street.

Police assisted a citizen in the 00 block of SE 6th Street.

Police responded to a disturbance involving a resident striking the house with a hammer in the 900 block of West Division Street.

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue.

Sept. 26:

Police responded to a request to watch for a reckless driver who was coming from German’s Corner at the north edge of town. The vehicle was located parked at a Galva residence.

Police responded to a theft complaint in the 300 block of NW 4th Avenue.

Police responded to a complaint of a solicitor in the 00 block of NE 4th Street. The officer was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Police responded to a driving complaint in the 100 block of NE 6th Avenue.

Four Galva juveniles were given juvenile referrals for Henry County Court Services following an investigation into a bicycle that was stolen and destroyed near Wiley Park last week. The juveniles were a 10-year-old, an 11-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 14-year-old, all from Galva.
They were all given referrals and released to their parents.

Sept. 27:

Police responded to a loud music complaint in the 800 block of NE 3rd Avenue.

Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 100 block of NW 8th Avenue.

Police responded to a request for a welfare check in the 300 block of Front Street. The subject was located in Kewanee.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue.

Police responded to a juvenile disturbance in the 300 block of East Division Street. The officer was unable to locate the youths.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue.

Sept. 28:

Police assisted in a civil standby to retrieve property in the 500 block of East Division Street.

Police and the fire department responded to a small field fire in the 900 block of SE 6th Street.

Police responded to a verbal dispute among neighbors in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 400 block of North Center Avenue. The officer was unable to locate the animal.

Police assisted Henry County with a 2-vehicle crash with minor injuries on Route 34, several miles west of town.
