Oct. 22:
Police were flagged down by a subject who had received suicidal text messages from their child in the 00 block of NE 4th Avenue. The subject was later located in Kewanee and transported to the hospital for evaluation/treatment.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 500 block of East Division Street. It was returned to a neighbor and taken back inside.
Police responded to a scam complaint in the 600 block of SW 1st Avenue.
Police responded to an activated burglar alarm in the 900 block of West Division Street. A key holder had put in the wrong passcode.
Police responded to a complaint about a juvenile issue at a school in Atkinson in the 200 block of NW 7th Avenue. The officer referred the complaint to the Atkinson Police Department for follow-up.

While patrolling, police saw a passenger car entering Galva at a very high rate of speed near the high school. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped up and fled. The officer began to pursue the suspect vehicle but decided to terminate due to safety concerns.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue. The owner arrived prior to the officer and took the dog home.

William Barnes, 40, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 100 block of NW 5th Street. Barnes was released with a required court date.

Police met with a subject who had found an Illinois ID card in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street The card was returned to its rightful owner.
Rhea Wheelhouse, 40, Bloomington, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 100 block of SW 3rd Street. Wheelhouse was released with a required court date.

Dacota Hanson, 26, Odell, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Center Avenue. Hanson was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a loud noise complaint, possibly a gunshot in the 800 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The officer was not able to locate anything.
Police responded to a juvenile complaint involving children jumping on picnic tables and electrical boxes in Wiley Park. They were advised to stay off equipment.
Police responded to a traffic complaint involving juveniles driving poorly and using hand gestures at the east edge of town. The officer was not able to locate the suspect vehicle.

Police recovered a safe that had been stolen in a burglary in June 2024 at the railroad tracks at NE 6th Avenue. This case remains under investigation.

Police assisted the Geneseo Police Department with delivering a message in the 00 block of SW 4th Street after property was found in their city. It was returned later in the day.
