Galva police report for March 18-24

March 18:

Police responded to a civil complaint in the 700 block of NW First Street.

Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department and escorted them to the city impound lot to remove property from a vehicle.

Police responded to a city ordinance violation in the 600 block of NW First Street.

March 19:

Police responded to a loud vehicle complaint in the 400 block of NW First Street.

Police responded twice for crossing arm malfunctions at the Exchange Street railroad crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

Ronald Snyder, 70, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SE Second Street.

March 20:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up complaint in the 600 block of SE Second Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Police responded to a report of a reckless driver who was Southbound from Route 81 at the north edge of town. The officer was not able to locate the driver.

March 21:

Police responded to a disturbance involving a door being forced open in the 00 block of Fourth Street. Officers reviewed the camera footage, and the complaint was unfounded.

Police, along with Stark County Medic, were dispatched to a residence on NE First Ave for a suicidal subject.

March 22:

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 200 block of SE Seventh Ave.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line complaint in the 00 block of SE Sixth Street. It was determined to be a medical call.

March 23:

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 100 block of NE Ninth Street for a civil property dispute. As a result, Donald Ensley, 37, Galva, was arrested on a no-bond warrant for an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.

Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the Exchange Street railroad tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

Police responded to a disturbance involving a group of juveniles in Wiley Park.

March 24:

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of NW Second Street. The dog was impounded and later released back to its owners.

Police responded to an unknown complaint in the 300 block of SW Third Street. The officer determined the subject was suffering from a mental health crisis.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up complaint in the 500 block of Third Avenue. Upon arrival, the officer determined it was a disturbance and removed an unwanted subject.

Police assisted the Kewanee Police Department with a complaint involving a gunshot victim. The subject was later pronounced deceased.
