Galva police report for Jan. 22-28

Jan. 22:

Police responded to a request to deliver a message for the Knox County Sheriff’s Department in the 300 block of South East Eighth Avenue.

Police responded to a report of an intoxicated subject making suicidal comments in the 00 block of North East Fourth Street. The subject was taken by ambulance for evaluation and treatment.

Police responded to a report of a neighborhood dispute over an ongoing issue with a loose dog in the 700 block of North West Third Avenue.

Police assisted the ambulance staff with a subject having a mental health crisis on North West Seventh Street.

Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Department after a snowmobile reportedly fell from a passing vehicle on Route 34.

Jan. 23:

Police responded to a request to assist an elderly subject in the 00 block of North East Fifth Street.

Police responded to a report of a gas drive-off complaint in the 00 block of South West Second Street.

Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Department following a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Hayes Road west of Galva.

Police located an abandoned vehicle in the roadway and contacted the owner for removal in the 800 block of North East Second Avenue.

Police responded multiple times to assist a subject having a mental health crisis in the 00 block of North East Fourth Street.

Jan. 24:

Police, along with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a report of a suicidal and intoxicated subject who was uncooperative in the 00 block of North East Fourth Street. The subject was detained and transported to Robert Young Mental Health Center.

Police assisted the ambulance staff with calls on South West Sixth Street and South West Fourth Street.

Jan. 25:

Police responded to a parking complaint involving a vehicle that was reportedly stolen from Kewanee. The complainant was referred to the Kewanee Police Department for a report.

Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted subject in the 00 block of South West Second Street. The subject was served with a written banning letter.

Police responded to a city ordinance violation involving trash in the 100 block of South East Fourth Street.

Police spoke with a resident by telephone concerning an identity theft complaint.

Police responded to a parking complaint in the 600 block of South West Fourth Street. The vehicle was removed without incident.

Police responded to a complaint of identity theft in the 700 block of North West First Street.

Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Route 34 west of Galva.

Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Department with a suicidal subject who had left Kewanee earlier in the day and was found several miles north of Galva in a field entrance.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call that was determined to be a misdial.

Police and the officer’s K9 partner assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Department with a traffic stop north of Galva.

Jan. 26:

Police provided traffic control while a vehicle was being towed in the 300 block of Main Street.

Police responded to a low-speed vehicle inspection in the 400 block of South East Fourth Street.

Police responded to a report of reckless driving in the downtown area. The officer was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Jan. 27:

Cameron Kelly, 24, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle with suspended registration for no insurance and operating a vehicle with expired registration. He was released with a required court date.

Police met with a subject at the police department to complete the subject’s annual sex offender registration form.

Police responded to a parking complaint in the 00 block of North West Second Street.

Javier Garcia-Corona, 42, Chicago, was arrested for improper use of registration, not having a valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 200 block of Exchange Street. He was released with a required court date.

Jan. 28:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 400 block of North West First Street. It was determined to be a child playing with the phone.

Police responded to a complaint of loud music in the 300 block of North East First Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 1100 block of South East Second Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
