Police spoke to a subject by telephone about a lost or missing cell phone. It has not been located or turned in yet.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident with damage only in the 200 block of Morgan Road. A crash report was completed.
Feb. 25:
Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to complete a new sex offender registration. The form was sent to Henry County for LEADS entry.
Police assisted Henry County with a disabled vehicle east of town on Route 34. The driver was located in Galva.
Feb. 26:
Police assisted a citizen who left keys in a door in the 100 block of Exchange Street. The keys were retrieved and given back to the owner later.
Police responded to a verbal domestic dispute between father and son in the 00 block of NE 4th Avenue.
Police responded to a “road rage incident” that ended in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. The victim did not want to press charges.
Feb. 27:
Police responded to an activated burglar alarm in the 00 block of NW 3rd Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Police responded to a neighborhood complaint involving a subject breaking their windows in the 900 block of West Division Street. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis; however, it was not considered to be a crime.
Feb. 28:
While patrolling, police noticed a large tree branch had fallen into the road in the 300 block of North Center Avenue. It was removed.
Brenda Johnson, 52, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for burning on a non-burn day after police and the fire department were dispatched to an out-of-control burn in a yard in the 400 block of NW 5th Street. A neighbor’s trampoline was destroyed.
Justin Hare, 35, Altona, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.
While patrolling, police noticed a crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6th Avenue railroad crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police assisted a citizen in the 100 block of SW 5th Street.
Police responded to a report of “vehicles chasing the complainant” in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue. The officer was not able to locate any suspect vehicles.
Kevin McCutchan, 29, Aledo, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 800 block of SE 2nd Street.
March 1:
Police assisted a subject who had locked their keys inside the vehicle in the 300 block of NW 1st Street. Tarleton was contacted to assist.
Police and the ambulance were dispatched to a medical emergency in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on NW 1st Avenue. The complainant saw a social media post about these residents being deceased. The officer made contact, and the subjects were alive and well.
Riley Hansen, 22, Neponset, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
March 2:
Police assisted Henry County with a traffic stop involving a wanted subject in the 900 block of SW 2nd Street. They were able to post bond and were released.
