Galva police report for Dec. 16-29

Dec. 16:

Police responded to a theft and burglary complaint in the 200 block of SW 1st Street.

Police assisted a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police responded to a traffic complaint involving semi-trucks parked along the highway causing congestion in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. The complaint was unfounded.

Police assisted a motorist in the 300 block of Front Street.

Dec. 17:

Police responded to a complaint about the theft of two computers in the 400 block of SW 5th Street. The complainant later found the computers.

David Moreno, 20, Corpus Christi, Texas, was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following a two-vehicle accident with damage only at the intersection of SE 1st Avenue and SW 2nd Street. A crash report was completed, and a stop sign that was knocked over during the accident was replaced by IDOT.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. It was determined to be a pocket dial.

Kayla Snider, 34, Galva, was located and arrested on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear on the charge of resisting a police officer in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. She was released with a new court date.

Dec. 18:

Police responded to a report of a medical emergency involving a subject who wasn’t breathing at a residence on SW 6th Street. The subject had no signs of life. The coroner responded and confirmed the subject was deceased.

Audri Roberts, 22, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. She was released with a required court date.

Guillermo Gonzalez-Rivera, 39, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.

Police spoke with a resident who had questions about child car seats by telephone.

Police responded to a request to help locate a subject who was reportedly making threats on Snapchat towards another juvenile. The suspect recently moved from Galva to Kewanee.

Dec. 19:

Police responded to a physical altercation in the 500 block of Burlington Road. The victim declined to prosecute. The offender was served a banning letter from the business.

Jennifer Hooks, 35, Cambridge, was cited for operating a vehicle when was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. She was released with a court date.

Police met with a business owner at the Galva Police Department about banning a subject from his property. The officer served the written banning form to the offender.

Bradley Yelm, 36, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for allowing a dog to run at large following a complaint about a loose and aggressive dog in the 100 block of NE 6th Street. The dog was taken back inside the house.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident with damage only in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. A crash report was completed.

Police responded to a complaint about telephone threats in the 400 block of NW 5th Street.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SW 4th Street. The subjects were fine.

Dec. 20:

Police responded to an abandoned car/parking complaint in the 300 block of Front Street.

Kelley Fredrickson, 35, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. She was released with a court date.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SW 2nd Avenue. The subject was fine.

Police observed that a train had stopped and was blocking all Galva crossings while patrolling. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 200 block of NW 2nd Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Jeanny Ibarra, 37, Galva, was arrested for domestic battery and assault with a weapon after police responded to a physical domestic disturbance in the 100 block of SE 6th Avenue. She was transported to the Henry Co Jail.

Russell Anderson, 61, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Ave.

Dec. 21:

Braden Jones, 46, Galva, was arrested for driving while his license was revoked following a traffic stop in the 900 block of North Center Avenue. He was transported to the Galva Police Department for processing and released with a required court date.

Gary McDonald, 57, Galva, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and improper lane usage following several 9-1-1 calls reporting an accident involving a truck vs power pole in the 600 block of North Center Avenue. While responding to the calls, police learned that the suspect vehicle was fleeing the area and located it several blocks away with severe damage. He was released with a required court date.

Police spoke by phone with a resident about a Christmas package that was delivered to the wrong address by mistake. The officer retrieved the package from the wrong residence and delivered it to the correct recipient.

Police responded to a verbal disturbance complaint in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 800 block of NE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a child playing with a phone.

Dec. 22:

Police conducted a welfare check at Sentry Estates. The subject was transported by ambulance.

Police responded to a complaint about two loose dogs in the 1000 block of West Division Street. The owner was able to retrieve them.

Brandon Swank, 29, Galva, was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.

Police responded to a complaint of a loose dog in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. The animal was returned to its owner at Sentry Estates.

Dec. 23:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 500 block of NE 3rd Street. The officer located a subject who requested an ambulance, and they were transported for treatment.

Eric Perez, 23, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 100 block of SE 8th Avenue. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to an ongoing issue with loose cats in the 800 block of NE 3rd Street. The animal owner was reminded about the Illinois leash law.

Police responded to a complaint of reckless driving on Route 17 near the Galva Cemetery. The officer located the vehicle but did not observe any violations for a traffic stop.

Police responded to an illegal burning complaint on a non-burn day in the 1000 block of NW 7th Avenue. The violator was educated on the ordinance and agreed to extinguish the fire.

Police responded to a traffic complaint involving a car running a stop sign and nearly causing a collision in the 00 block of NE 9th Street. The officer checked the area and was not able to find the suspect vehicle.

Police responded to a suicidal subject at a residence on NE 3rd Street. They were transported by ambulance for evaluation/treatment.

Police responded to a report of a lost or stolen wallet in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. The wallet was located by the complainant where they had left it.

Dec. 24:

Police responded to a complaint of reckless driving at the east edge of town. The suspect vehicle was not located.

Dec. 25:

Ryley Rafferty, 23, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Industrial Avenue. He was released with a required court date.

Dec. 26:

Police delivered a message to a residence in the 200 block of SW 5th Street.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SW 4th Street. The subject was found to be in a local hospital.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 700 block of North Center Avenue.

Anthony Sutton, 35, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.

Dec. 27:

Police responded to a report of an open car door in the 100 block of SW 6th Avenue. The owner was contacted and said nothing appeared to be missing.

Police assisted Henry County with a single-vehicle accident a couple of miles north of town.

Police assisted Henry County with another single-vehicle accident north of town.

Derek Johnson, 36, Kewanee, was issued citations for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle, and no valid registration following a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.

Police assisted the Kewanee Police Department with a theft complaint in the 200 block of SE 7th Avenue. The item was recovered and returned to Kewanee officers.

Dec. 28:

Police responded to a loose cat complaint in the 800 block of NE 3rd Street.

Brandon Swank, 29, Galva, was arrested for violation of an order of protection when Police were called to remove an unwanted subject in the 500 block of SW 3rd Street. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on South Center Avenue.

Police located a disabled vehicle while patrolling near the intersection of SE 8th Avenue and SE 2nd Street.

Dec. 29:

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on NE 1st Avenue.
