The Oasis Family Aquatic Center at Northeast Park marked the end of its 2023 season with its annual “Mary Ann Miskinis Memorial Dog Paddle” event on Sunday, Aug. 6.
The “dog days” are over for the summer season as the park district drains the pool and closes the doors until next spring. But before that, dog owners got to bring their furry friends out for a day of fun in the sun. There was a good turnout this year with between 40 to 50 pups getting to dip their paws in the water.
Managing the event was Ann Hamilton and Lacy Labedis, who would like to remind locals that donations to the Henry County Humane Society are most welcome.
The Oasis Family Aquatic Center will reopen early June next year.
