United Way opens 2027 grant applications for Henry, Stark counties nonprofits

Nonprofits serving Henry and Stark counties can soon apply for 2027 grant funding through the Kewanee Area United Way. The application period opens June 22 and closes July 13, 2026. Eligible organizations are encouraged to review qualifications and submit applications during that timeframe.

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing services in Henry and/or Stark counties. Services must address one of the four areas of emphasis below:

Education – Helping youth achieve their potential Academic Success Financial Stability – Promoting financial stability and independence
Physical and Mental Health – Improving people’s health and Individuals access to health and safety resources
Community Resiliency – Combining these categories to build successful healthy communities.

Applications will only be accepted via email. All information must be included with no exceptions. Instructions regarding completion of the form will be on the website under “Resources” as of June 22, 2026.

Prior receipt of grants does not guarantee continued funding. Grants are awarded based on projected need in Henry and Stark counties for programs or agencies. Changes in other funding expected such as changes in federal and or state prioritization of funds will also be a factor. The board of directors will review grant applications in August, and notifications will be sent via email in September.

Notification of grant amounts will be sent to recipients in mid-December. All funding is based on the current year’s overall donations.
