Galva police report for May 25-31

May 25:

Police responded to a trespassing complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police responded to an animal neglect complaint in the 600 block of North Center Avenue.

Police were present for a civil standby to retrieve property in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Amber Varner, 42, Dahinda, was issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle in the 600 block of South Center Avenue.

May 26:

Police responded to a reckless driving complaint in the 400 block of SE 4th Street. The officer was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

May 27:

Luke Rawlings, 43, Galva, was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct following a disturbance complaint in the 900 block of West Division Street. He was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and later released with a required court date.

Donald Adams, 49, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Center Avenue. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to a suicidal complaint at a residence on SW 2nd Avenue.

May 28:

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 100 block of SE 1st Avenue. The dog was located and returned to its owner.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on NW 11th Street. The subject was located out of the area and was fine.

Police responded to a theft complaint in the 300 block of NW 4th Avenue.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 500 block of James B. Young Road. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.

Police responded to an open line in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone in need of assistance.

Police responded to a civil complaint involving the purchase of a vehicle in the 600 block of North Center Avenue.

May 29:

Evan Salz, 22, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when its registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to a city ordinance violation involving a pile of furniture sitting on the terrace in the 500 block of SE 3rd Street. The residents were advised to dispose of the items.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 300 block of NW 2nd Street. The officer was unable to locate the animal.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 00 block of South Center Avenue. It was confirmed to be a misdial.

May 30:

Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving an injured fox in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer located it and followed it further east towards the outskirts of town.

Police were called to watch for a reckless driver at the south edge of town. The officer did not locate the driver.

May 31:

Police spoke to a resident by telephone about a city ordinance violation.

Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving a snake in the backyard of a residence in the 800 block of NW 7th Avenue.

Police assisted Henry County with a welfare check on a couple walking towards Galva, southwest of town. The officer was unable to locate the couple.
