The Kewanee Elks Lodge # 724 has named Addison Looney of Wethersfield High School and Jack Anderson of Kewanee High School as its 2026 “Teens of the Year.”
Looney, the daughter of Jon and Amanda Looney, is a graduate of Wethersfield High School. Her achievements included salutatorian, High Honor Roll, National Honor Society, cheerleading captain, marching and concert band, Key Club, FFA treasurer and as a student journalist in The Kewanee Voice Student Journalism Program. She participated in school plays and art club. She was also active in community service through FFA and Key Club events.
Anderson, the son of Greg and Katie Anderson, is a graduate of Kewanee High School. His accomplishments included salutatorian, High Honor Roll, National Honor Society, golf team co‑captain, band and jazz band, student council, and class president. He volunteered with the Galva Historical Society, his church’s Praise Team, Community Choir, Kiwanis projects and FFA service activities.
Both students advanced from the local level to the district competition, where they each placed first. They then represented the district at the state level, earning third‑place honors. Each received scholarships at the local, district and state levels through the Elks Teen of the Year program, which recognizes outstanding high school seniors for scholarship, citizenship and service.
The Kewanee Elks announced the honors this week as part of its ongoing youth recognition initiatives.
