Abilities Plus Executive Director Kim Walker recently accepted a $1,000 donation from Tony Stoeger of the Geneseo Kiwanis Club. The funds will be used to purchase new living room chairs for one of the organization’s group homes, providing comfort and a refreshed environment for residents.
Abilities Plus, based in Kewanee, has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families across Henry, Stark and western Bureau counties since 1959. The nonprofit offers a wide range of services including residential support, vocational training, life skills development and community integration programs. Its group homes provide safe, supportive living environments tailored to each resident’s needs.
Walker emphasized that donations like this one make a meaningful difference.
The Geneseo Kiwanis Club’s contribution is part of its ongoing commitment to community service and youth support. Walker noted that the donation is deeply appreciated by both staff and residents.
