Jendayia Crowe becomes first regional girls champ in KHS history

Kewanee High School got its first regional girls champion in state regional wrestling, as Jendayia Crowe won first place in the 125-pound category.
Also advancing to the sectionals were Aaliyah Swearingen, who placed second in the 145-pound category, and Hailey Lampe, a fourth-place finisher at 110 pounds
The sectionals will be Friday and Saturday in DeKalb. Qualifiers there will advance to the state finals.

Hailey Lampe (8-5 on the season) placed 4th and scored 11 team points.
Quarterfinal – Hailey Lampe won by fall over Averi Fuller (Sherrard) 1-9 (Fall 1:32)
Semifinal – Annalee Haschemeyer (Canton) 28-3 won by fall over Hailey Lampe (Fall 0:59)
Consolation semifinal- Hailey Lampe won by fall over Chloe Cobert (Rock Island (H.S.) (Fall 0:22)
3rd Place Match – Aerith Adams (Dunlap) won by fall over Hailey Lampe (Fall 1:18)

JenDayia Crowe (17-7) placed first and scored 27.5 team points.

Kewanee High placed ninth among the 19 teams that competed, with 56.5 points. Geneseo finished in first place with 169 points.
