The Kewanee High School freshman boys faced off against Bureau Valley for the third time this season, winning 44-23 this time.
“The main key for the game that the boys were challenged with was to defend all four quarters,” Coach Trenton Terry said. “We applied a lot of pressure with our press and anticipated passes, leading to easy transition buckets for the team.
“I’m super proud of our effort and the way we put in the work for all four quarters,” Terry said.
Leading scorers for the team were Dane Vandevelde and Abe Diaz with 12 apiece.
The freshman squad moves to 14-6 on the year and will face off against Ottawa Tuesday night at home.
