Cà d’Zan House Concerts is set to welcome one of Scotland’s most beloved traditional bands, the Tannahill Weavers, for a special performance on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
The evening will begin with a community potluck and social hour from 6 – 7 p.m., followed by music at 7 p.m.. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable outdoor seating. This is an all ages show, with a suggested donation of $20–30 to support the artists.
Named for poet Robert Tannahill, the “Weaver Poet of Paisley,” the Tannahill Weavers are recognized worldwide as trailblazers in the Scottish folk music revival. Blending the energy of contemporary Celtic music with deep roots in traditional Scottish songs and instrumentals, the band has spent more than five decades performing across the globe. They were the first professional group to incorporate the Great Highland Bagpipe into a Scottish band lineup, helping to redefine the sound of modern Celtic music while preserving its ancient heritage.
Formed in 1968, the Tannahill Weavers have released numerous acclaimed albums, earned induction into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame, and inspired countless musicians in the folk world. Their performances are marked by fiery instrumentals, beautiful ballads, and irresistible humor that connects with audiences of all backgrounds.
With their unmatched combination of tradition, innovation, and sheer musicality, the Tannahill Weavers create an unforgettable experience that both honors Scotland’s past and celebrates its living culture. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience them up close in the intimate setting of Cà d’Zan House Concerts.
