Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 00 block of SW 6th Avenue. The animal’s owner quickly arrived and took the dog home.
Anabelle Twomey, 24, Galva, was arrested for driving while her license was suspended following a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Division Street. She was released with a required Henry County court date.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 100 block of NE 1st Street. The owner was putting the dogs inside the house upon the officer’s arrival.
A subject was spoken with by telephone about an abandoned vehicle within Galva’s city limits.
Police met with a resident to answer questions about an order of protection in the 300 block of NW 4th Avenue.
A motorist was assisted in the 200 block of South Exchange Street.
David Johnston, 32, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 200 block of NW 6th Avenue. He was released with a required court date.
Jason Luedee, 52, Galva, was charged with criminal damage to government-supported property, reckless driving and improper lane usage in the 400 block of East Division Street after a follow-up on an incident that was reported on Aug. 7. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a complaint involving an abandoned bicycle at the railroad tracks near the former SW 4th Avenue crossing. The bike was impounded and later returned to its owner.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up in the 800 block of SE 1st Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
Police responded to a complaint involving a neglected animal in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.
Police responded to a landlord/tenant complaint in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police responded to a city ordinance violation involving junk being stored in the yard in the 400 block of NE 3rd Street. The resident was advised of the upcoming city cleanup days.
Police responded to a complaint about telephone harassment in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.
Sept.10:
Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SE 3rd Street. The subject was fine.
Police responded to a complaint of an out-of-control juvenile in front of the Police Department’s building. The juvenile was not cooperative, and the parent ultimately left and told the juvenile they could walk home.
Police responded to a report of a speeding car that Kewanee Police had observed but declined to pursue. The officer located the vehicle, which quickly accelerated and was lost to the officer.
Police were flagged down by a parent about a juvenile battery that had occurred near the 200 block of NE 7th Street.
Jonathan Israel, 46, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 900 block of North Center Avenue.
Sept. 11:
Ryan Fay, 34, Cambridge, was arrested for driving while license was revoked, operating an uninsured vehicle and use of registration not authorized by law for use on such vehicle following a traffic stop in the 500 block of NW 3rd Avenue. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a report of a suicidal subject who was attempting to overdose on medications at a residence on Front Street. The subject was located and taken by ambulance for treatment/evaluation.
Police responded to a disturbance involving several subjects in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue.
Helly Marquez-Contreras, 26, Kewanee, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license, operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 300 block of Front Street. She was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue. The subject had been removed during a disturbance moments earlier, just a few blocks away.
A debit card was found in Wiley Park and turned in to the Police Department. Police returned it to a residence in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police conducted a welfare check on a subject who was sitting in a vacant lot in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The subject was transported to a friend’s house and dropped off there.
Police conducted a civil standby to retrieve property in the 100 block of NE 9th Street.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up in the 400 block of South Center Avenue. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.
A motorist was assisted in the 400 block of SW 1st Avenue.
Jason Pugliano, 48, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear on the charge of driving under the influence of drugs following a complaint in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. He was taken to Henry County Jail.
Sept. 12:
Police assisted the fire department with a fire alarm in the 1000 block of Courtyard Estates. A faulty belt was located on an air compressor that had become too hot.
Anita Manary, 82, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper use of registrations, following a traffic stop in the 700 block of NW 3rd Avenue. She was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up in the 400 block of SW 3rd Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
Police assisted Henry County with an activated aircraft panic alarm near the Kewanee airport. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Police responded to a theft complaint in the 100 block of SE 6th Avenue. It was determined to be a civil issue.
Matthew Henry, 20, Lafayette, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 800 block of SW 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a complaint involving a juvenile fight during the Homecoming football game in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. This incident is still pending.
Sept. 13:
Tyron Taylor, 42, Kewanee, was arrested for driving while his license was revoked, operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Exchange Street. He was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and then released with a required court date.
Sept. 14:
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 700 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The dog was impounded.
Police responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of West Division Street.
Police responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 100 block of SE 6th Street. A crash report was completed.
