The New View Furniture store in downtown Kewanee will be going out of business soon.
“We have decided to begin the process of closing the store,” began a post on the store’s Facebook page Thursday.
The store on West Second Street was closing Friday and Saturday “so we can move and mark down our inventory,” the post said. “When we open on Monday, everything will be 40 percent off.”
The post continued, “On Oct. 7, all remaining inventory will be at least 50 percent off.”
“Our hearts are sad to share that news,” the post said. “We love this town and are proud to be members of this local business community that wishes to see Kewanee and its residents thrive and prosper.”
“We are so thankful for all of you who have visited our store and blessed us with your business,” the post said. “We do not say that flippantly. We know budgets are tight and we value each one of you who chose to spend your dollars in our community.”
The post said, “To our team, thank you. You have been a blessing to our family.”
