Zach Anderson has been named the coach of Galva High School’s football team.
Anderson’s coaching career started seven years ago, “and his passion for helping student-athletes grow and learn will continue this coming fall in 2025, as he leads the Galva Wildcats Varsity eight-man football team,” said Galva Athletic Director Marland Rachel.
“As a native of Galva, Zach is excited as Galva has always been his home,” Rachel said. “His education was provided by the Galva school and he is excited to return to his roots and be a part of the program, now as the varsity coach.
Anderson was a four-year letterman in football, basketball, and baseball, a two-time captain for football, basketball, and baseball, a member of the first team all-conference in 2008-2009, and first team all-Western Illinois. “We look forward to seeing what this Hometown Hero Winner in 2008-2009 brings to the field,” Rachel said.
“We will continue to make pads pop, hit the right gaps at the right times and improve our tackling moves,” Anderson said.
“I will teach these kids how to love the game of football like I do,” he said. “I will give respect and expect the same from my players, the team, the fans and the competition.
“At the end of the day, I want to have fun and be competitive, in practices and games.”
