This past weekend, three seventh-grade girls from the Wethersfield volleyball team attended the All-State Classic Future Stars.

This event brings together some of the most talented young athletes from across the entire state.

This is a great opportunity for these girls to meet new friends, experience fun competition and learn new skills to bring back to their teams.

The classic was held in Peoria at the EastSide Centre. The girls were on teams with girls from different schools and participated in many skills competitions.

The three seventh graders who attended were Scarlett Morey, Ivy Ouart, and Addison Talbot.

When asked about how she felt receiving this honor, Scarlett said, “I am very proud that I can take my volleyball journey one step further by attending this amazing opportunity. I was very excited when I heard I was invited.”

When asked what she hopes to gain from this experience, Ivy said, “I hope to meet new people, gain more opportunities, and learn from the other athletes.”

When asked what advice she would give younger players, Addison said, “Don’t give up and keep practicing. Try your hardest all the time.”

At th event, competitions like mother/daughter and father/daughter serving competitions were held.

One eighth grader, Olivia Shipley, will be attending the classic this weekend. The event is just the same, but with other eighth graders from around the state.

For all four students, attending the classic is more than just a fun outing; it’s a chance to learn, be inspired and connect with the sport.
