Wethersfield Elementary principal Kyle Dennison has started a tradition since he joined the staff.

This year, that tradition was held Friday from 5-6 p.m.

Three years in a row Principal Dennison has held an event for the students called “Popsicles with the Principal.” About 50-75 students attend the event, he said.

“Popsicles with the Principal” is a way for Dennison to get closer with the kids, by building trust and connecting with them in a fun way outside of school hours.

Dennison’s wife and mom are joined by him, letting the students get to know him outside of school because of his family.

It’s a memorable experience for all students that attend, with them getting to play on the playground, talk to their principal and play with classmates without worrying about having to get back inside to learn.

All in all, “Popsicles with the Principal” is an occasion for Wethersfield kids to get to know their principal better, all while having fun and cooling off with popsicles.
