The Wethersfield High School FFA chapter is hosting a gift card raffle this year to raise money for 10 children selected from the Angel Tree program.

In previous years, the chapter sponsored only two children, but members decided to take on a bigger role this season and support ten of the “angels” on the tree.

The fundraiser was organized by FFA advisor Kate Rashid, who said the raffle is intended not only to give back to families in need but also to involve local businesses and community members.

To gather the prizes, FFA students visited local and nonlocal businesses to request donations of gift cards or money. The collected items will be bundled into a raffle in which two winners will receive multiple gift cards for the holiday season.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go toward supporting the selected Angel Tree children and helping fund the chapter’s efforts.

Ticket sales begin Tuesday, Dec. 2. Each ticket costs $10 and can be purchased from any FFA member or by contacting the Wethersfield High School directly at 309-853-4205.

Winners will be chosen on Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. and notified. Tickets will continue to be sold up until the drawing.
