Early voting has been heavy for next week’s presidential election, with more than 40 million people nationwide casting their ballots by mail or in person.
That trend has been seen in Henry County, according to County Clerk Barbara Link.
Link said early voting has been “absolutely wonderful.”
County residents may cast their ballots ahead of Election Day by going to the county clerk’s office at the courthouse in Cambridge. They’ve been coming an at the rate of more than 100 per day, Link said,
“We’re very happy to see people coming in to vote,” she said, although she added that “We encourage them to go to their precincts” to vote on Election Day.
Registered voters can vote at the clerk’s office from 8 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will also be open for early voting from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday.
Early voting will be available through Monday.
People who haven’t yet registered to vote, or who have moved since they last voted, can register at the clerk’s office. They need to bring a photo ID and a couple of pieces of mail that list their current address.
