The Kewanee wrestling team has taken down teams left and right, adding two more wins against St.Bede and Erie-Prophetstown last week.
Kewanee dominated the St. Bede Bruins with an overall score of 64 to 15 before beating the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers 56-17.

Standouts from the first match included senior Tyson Currie, whose determination made the difference with a fall in the second period at the 3:20 mark.
Kewanee’s fastest pins against the Bruins came from junior Chance DeSplinter (0:27), senior Alex Duarte (0:31), junior Dontel Wommack (0:38) and sophomore Lain Taylor (0:56).

In the second match, persistence brought Currie and junior Hunter Vancil well-earned wins at 5:47 and 5:11. Junior Douglas Swearingen found speedy success (0:31), as did DeSplinter (0:46).

Kewanee’s wrestlings team will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 16 at Morrison. The next day, the Boilers will host Monmouth-Roseville and Princeton in Brockman Gym starting at 5:30 p.m.
