Two teams shared the season championship in the Kewanee Park District’s youth soccer program.

Teams sponsored by Rux Funeral Home and COUNTRY Financial each had a record of six wins and one loss for the spring soccer season.

The teams met in a championship match Wednesday.

“Both squads have demonstrated outstanding skill, teamwork and determination throughout the season, earning their places in the title game,” said Kristin Padilla, coach of the Rux team. 

“Their impressive records reflect months of hard work on the practice field and strong performances against tough competition,” Padilla said.

Team COUNTRY Financial is coached by Roni Whitmer.

Coaches from both teams praised their players for their dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season. 

Families, friends and community supporters filled the sidelines as the young athletes competed for the championship.

“Both teams achieved an incredible accomplishment by ending the final game with nearly perfect seasons,” Padilla said. “Their success serves as a testament to the effort, perseverance and passion they have shown all year long.”
