The A-W Titans softball team welcomed the Monmouth-Roseville Titans and were triumphant, 6-5.
The A-W Titans opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two doubles. They first got on the board when Wavelynn Peart doubled, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the first, Monmouth-Roseville Titans captured the lead, 4-3, after Rylie Stokes doubled down the right field line, and Olivia Register singled down the left field line, each scoring two runs.
They added one run in the second. Brenna Livingston grounded out, making the score 5-3.
A-W tied the game in the top of the third thanks to an error, and a fly out by Elizabeth Dooley.
A-W took the lead in the top of the fourth. Karsyn Rico tripled, scoring one run, to give the home team the upper hand, 6-5. That was the final score.
Pitcher Lauren Davis had a good night, surrendering seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four.
Overall, the AW Titans collected 12 hits in the game. Wavelynn Peart provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Titans with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Wavelynn Peart, Emersynn Peart, Lillie Bowen and Rico each collected two hits for the Titans.
A-W will play a double header at Bureau Valley Saturday.
