Due to delays caused by the threatening weather Friday night, it took longer than usual to complete the Annawan-Wethersfield game against Elmwood-Brimfield in Wethersfield Memorial Stadium Friday night.
But it didn’t take long for the host Titans to start putting points in the board in their 36-0 win.
A-W got on the board in the first quarter on a fumble recovery by Alejandro Garcia.
The score was 6-0 at the half, but the Titans’ offense came alive in the third quarter.
Less than a minute into the quarter, sophomore Danny Heston scored on a two-yard run.
Later in the quarter, quarterback Aaden VerStraete made the score 22-0 when he connected with Cole Goodley for a 12-yard touchdown pass.
The Titans added to their lead in the fourth quarter on a pass from VerStraete to Tressin Jape, and rounded out the scoring on Garcia’s 52-yard run.
Heston was the Titans’ leading rusher with 103 yards on 28 carries. VerStraete carried 11 times for 58 yards.
