Daniel N. Carlson, 56, Tiskilwa, is charged with one count of public indecency following a police investigation into a report that he exposed himself to two girls.

According to a Kewanee Police Department press release, the incident occurred on Monday Sept. 18 at approximately 3:19 pm. Police were dispatched to the 600 block of E. First St. following a report of indecent exposure.

During the investigation, officers learned that two juvenile females were walking on the sidewalk when they passed a white Ford 4-door sedan that was parked on the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle then exposed himself to the girls as they walked by. The girls immediately reported the incident to an adult, who in turn, contacted the KPD. The suspect was described as an older man with long, white hair and a long white beard.

Officers arrived in the area shortly after the call and located a vehicle and driver that matched the description. After conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, officers learned that the driver, Carlson, had been arrested in November of 1999 for a similar incident that occurred in Princeton.

The charge of public indecency is a Class A misdemeanor and carries a potential sentence of up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,500, as well as mandatory court fees.

“Our detectives believe there may be unreported incidents involving this suspect,” the police statement read.
