The Hog Herald, the official source for all things Kewanee Hog Day, is set to make its return this summer.
Three years ago, The Kewanee Voice made the Hog Days Committee an offer they couldn’t refuse: a partnership to help promote the city’s beloved Labor Day festival. That collaboration gave rise to The Hog Herald, first as a digital category on The Voice website, where readers could find everything from entertainment lineups to event schedules and community activities.
By 2024, the online section had grown into a full print edition featuring articles, columns and detailed schedules devoted entirely to the annual celebration.
This April, the Hog Days Committee agreed once again to sponsor the 2026 print edition, which will hit stands in late August. The festival itself will be held September 4–7—slightly later than usual—over Labor Day weekend.
Marketing consultant Paula Kapacinskas said with Memorial Day picnics and barbecues behind us, summer is officially on the horizon.
“Which means it’s prime time to start thinking about Hog Days,” she said.

Kapacinskas added that The Kewanee Voice is already gearing up for summer advertising sales in The Hog Herald.
“Now in our fourth year partnering with the Hog Days Committee, the publication continues to grow, featuring stronger editorial content and an expanding network of local advertisers each year,” she said.
Hog Days remains the most anticipated time of year for Kewaneeans, and Kapacinskas said the news outlet is deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership.
“We extend our sincere thanks to the Hog Days Committee for their continued trust in us,” she said.
More than 2,500 copies of The Hog Herald will be distributed throughout Kewanee and surrounding communities, with the free, full-color newspaper also available at participating advertiser locations.
It’s never too early for advertisers to reserve space in The Hog Herald. Availability is limited. Businesses and organizations can secure advertising by emailing Kapacinskas at marketing@kewaneevoice.com.
