Black Hawk College is partnering with the Kewanee Animal Shelter to present the Teddy Bear Hospital.

Children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the East Campus Veterinary Sciences Center. In addition to getting their stuffed friend a checkup, participants will get the opportunity to explore careers in the veterinary industry.

Checkups for bears will include weigh-in, X-rays, bandaging, heart rate, pharmacy and surgery.

All children are welcome to attend the event, but the recommended age group is 3 to 8-year olds.

The event is set for Saturday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the BHC East Campus, located at 26230 Black Hawk Rd, Galva. Admission is free but donations to the Kewanee Animal Shelter are appreciated.
