The Village of Cambridge concert series Sounds of the Village culminates on Thursday, Sept. 11 at College Square Park in Cambridge, Ill. The free community concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and run approximately two hours, featuring performances from acclaimed Americana/rock songwriter Zach Pietrini and local blues-rock favorites Jerm Theory.

Based in Milwaukee, Zach Pietrini is known for his heartfelt Americana and rock songs that blend Midwestern grit with a refreshing honesty. Named “Best Live Act in Milwaukee” by the Shepherd Express, Zach has toured extensively across the U.S., connecting with audiences through his engaging stage presence and storytelling.

Hailing from the Quad Cities region, Jerm Theory brings a high-energy fusion of blues and rock that has been electrifying audiences across Illinois and beyond. Known for soulful vocals, driving guitar riffs, and an irresistible groove, the band delivers dynamic performances that bridge classic blues traditions with modern rock energy. With a growing fan base and reputation for passionate live shows, Jerm Theory has become a rising name in the regional music scene.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show under the open sky. This is an all-ages, family-friendly event, and attendees are welcome to bring their own food and drinks.

The Sounds of the Village concert series launched in 2025 with the goal of bringing free, high-quality live music to the heart of Cambridge. This Sept. 11 concert will mark the final event of the 2025 season, but the Village is already planning to expand the series in 2026 with more dates and even greater opportunities for the community to come together through music.

“Live music has always had the power to connect people,” said John Taylor of Crossroads Cultural Connections, who has worked closely with the Village to help develop the series. “With Sounds of the Village, we’re creating a tradition in Cambridge that celebrates great artists while strengthening the social and cultural fabric of our community.”
