With a couple of key players on the sidelines due to injury or illness, Kewanee High School’s soccer team dropped a match to Sterling Saturday, 5-3.

The Boilermakers scored first, but Sterling came back to take the lead 2-1.

“Kewanee suffered because James Roginski was injured and usually the player that takes his place is Cristian Bretado, but Cristian was not feeling well,” said KHS Coach Jose Bermudez.

Cristian Cazeras scored two of the Boilers’ goals and Tyson Currie scored the other goal.

KHS had nine goalie saves and 14 shots in the game.
