On Monday, the Lady Geese basketball team got a win against the Princeville Princes, and junior Lana Scott was recognized for being the 12th Lady Geese basketball player to reach 1,000 points.

Before the game started, it was announced that over the weekend in a tournament, Scott had reached 1,000 career points.

“I’m very grateful to be in the position to be able to play basketball, and that I have had the opportunity to be on varsity for these past three seasons. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without such good teammates, great coaches, a great program and God,” said Scott.

The game started quickly, with a layup made by Megan Oliver, with the assist from Scott. Great defense was seen from Wethersfield, forcing turnovers.

Camryn Anderson was dominating the boards with rebounds the entire first half.

The Geese came out of halftime with the same momentum they had before. Camryn Anderson got the first points coming back with a splash from the three-point line.

Wethersfield was on fire for the rest of the game, with the final score being 60-43.

The top scorer for the Lady Geese was Scott, with 17 points, followed by Kyleigh Anderson with 16. Both Wethersfield players also had the most assists for the team.

Camryn Anderson was a rebounding machine, leading the Geese in rebounds.

The junior varsity team from Wethersfield lost a close game 24-26.
