The Kewanee Voice, with the help of the League of Women Voters of the Kewanee area, will hold a public forum on the issue of Kewanee streets and the proposed sales tax that would help fund city road repairs. The public is encouraged to attend.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Henry County Senior Citizens Center, located at 200 E. South Street.

A panel of city officials that includes Mayor Gary Moore, City Manager Gary Bradley and Public Works Director Kevin Newton will be on hand to answer the public’s questions about the issues.

The evening will be moderated by The Kewanee Voice’s Dave Clarke and refreshments will be provided courtesy of the League of Women Voters of the Kewanee Area.

The event is intended to inform the public about the important issue that tops the list of residents’ concerns, as well as answer questions about the proposed sales tax increase that will appear on the March 19 ballot and require voters’ approval.

Questions about the forum can be directed to the editor of The Kewanee Voice at news@kewaneevoice.com.
