Putter and Bogey, 12-week-old orange tabby kittens are looking for a forever home.

If you’re looking to double your fun this week, meet two young orange tabby kittens who are ready to brighten your day. Putter and Bogey are 12‑week‑old brothers who play hard, nap hard and are eager to find their forever homes.

Their story began in late May, when a caring citizen found a litter of kittens alone and struggling on East Seventh Street in Kewanee. Three were caught first, and the remaining two were rounded up shortly after. Once reunited, the whole litter of five was transferred to the shelter.

The three sisters have since been adopted, but these two handsome boys are still waiting for their turn.

At first, both kittens were shy and unsure of their surroundings. After a few weeks of steady routine, they’ve settled in beautifully. Now they’re sweet, playful and thriving — especially when they’re together. They love chasing toys with long strings and will keep going as long as you can match their energy.

Weighing just over two pounds each, these affectionate littermates are excellent eaters and growing right on track for their age. They’ll play all morning, but when the shelter quiets down, they curl up and sleep like the babies they are — usually side by side.

Both kittens have been flea treated, dewormed and have received their first FVRCP vaccine in a series of three. They’re too young to be neutered, but adopters will receive a voucher to cover neutering and their rabies shot when they reach 5–6 months old.

Putter and Bogey would love for you to stop by, meet them, and share a little playtime. They’ve already won over the staff and volunteers — and they’re ready to win you over too.

To schedule a visit, call the shelter at 309‑852‑0040, or stop in during visiting hours. Adoption fee: $60.
