If you’ve ever wished for a cat with the presence of a thundercloud and the heart of a teddy bear, allow us to introduce Storm — a 14‑pound, two‑year‑old black cat who specializes in charm, cuddles and mild workplace supervision.
Storm first arrived at the shelter in May as a stray, found his way into a home in June, and then — in true Storm fashion — blew back in again in November after being picked up as a stray a second time. This time, he’s hoping for a forever home that sticks.
Around the shelter, Storm is known for wanting to be a part of the action while staff cleans kennels, hopping right in to oversee the operation and offer moral support.
When he was last returned, he had a large open wound on his back, but thanks to time, care, and plenty of TLC, it’s nearly healed and his fur is filling back in beautifully.
Storm gets along wonderfully with other cats and absolutely adores attention. If you’re not giving him enough, he’ll simply jump up and remind you. He’s also developed a bit of a reputation as an escape artist — the moment a door cracks open, he’s right there plotting his great escape.
He’s fully vetted — neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea‑treated and dewormed — and ready to head home with someone who appreciates a big, affectionate, slightly mischievous snuggle buddy. His adoption fee is $50.
Stop by the Kewanee shelter soon to meet Storm. He’s ready to trade his jailbreak attempts for a warm lap and a family who won’t let him slip through the cracks again.
