For those not ready to say goodbye to summer, this weekend is for you. Forecasted temperatures are in the upper 80’s and 90’s leaving our small glimpse of fall back in hiding. Luckily there are a lot of things to do outside where the prospect of catching a cooling breeze helps to make the evenings far more enjoyable.

For football fans this is the weekend to catch your favorite area high school team as Kewanee, Annawan/Wethesfield and Galva are all playing on their home fields.

Bishop Hill will be celebrating Old Settlers’ Day on Saturday. This tiny hamlet will have activities and events along with museums and shops open all day long. The event is free and open to the public, so bring your lawn chairs, explore the shops and museums, and soak in the charm of the historic village.

Looking for music? Then head on over to Cambridge as the Ca d’Zan Concert series will be hosting Faux Paws at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Love, DEAN at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening
