This weekend Kewanee businesses will have a “Shop Small, Business Crawl” from March 20 through the 28.

Local participating businesses include Baysingar’s Antiques, Blissful Branch, Blooms by Heartfelt, Breedlove Sporting Goods, Coco’s Coffee Shop, Country Morning Coffee, Empire Bookshop, Gallery on Second, Good’s Furniture, Hillside Florist, HRD Tack Shop Trailer, Jessie’s Closet, Johnson’s Appliance, Johnson’s Hub, Prairie Chicken Haus, Say Less and Walter’s Jewelers. Stop in at the stores, get a punch on your card from all of the participating businesses and be entered into a drawing for “Shop Crawl Dollars.”

On both Friday and Saturday evenings Galva High School will present the musical, “The Lighting Thief” at 7:30 p.m. at Galva High School. Based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling series, “The Lightning Thief” musical tells the story of Percy Jackson, the half-blood son of a god and his quest to restore Zeus’ master lighting bolt and prevent a war between the gods.

The weather looks to be really nice this weekend, so it’s a great time to get out of the house and go support these local stores and kids.
