This weekend offers up many opportunities for holiday fun and shopping. Starting with Kewanee’s Small Business Crawl sponsored by Farmers Insurance that will run all weekend long at these participating businesses: Co Co’s, Empire Bookshop, Blissful Branch, Blooms by Heartfelt, Johnson’s Hub, Jessie’s Closet, Good’s Furniture, Country Morning Coffee, HRD Tack Shop Trailer – parked at Good’s Furniture parking lot, Breedlove’s Sporting Goods and Prairie Chicken Haus. A perfect time to do some shopping and support area merchants.

For the kids, head to the Holly Jolly Festival hosted by the Wethersfield High School Student Council on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 2-4 p.m. There you’ll find numerous holiday activities to keep the kids happy and busy.

Later that day don your warmest coat and enjoy Kewanee’s Lighted Christmas Parade that precedes the official lighting of Windmont and Northeast Parks.

Snow. Lights. Festivities. Numerous events and activities to light the spark of holiday spirit in even the biggest grinch. We are currently dwelling inside a holiday postcard. Take advantage of it and go out and enjoy all that our area has to offer this Christmas season.
