With the area children returning to school, it seems that summer may be winding down. But there is still some good seasonal events guaranteed to keep the family entertained.

Starting with Atkinson Heritage Days; the annual event boasts food, music, crafts, activities, fireworks, a BBQ rib cook off, pie auction and so much more. Activities begin Friday evening and carry on through Saturday. See Atkinson Heritage Days Return for a complete schedule of events and times here.

Also on Saturday evening is the Henry/Stark Relay For Life at Windmont Park from 6-10 p.m. The park comes alive with walkers and activities while luminaries light the path and float in the lagoon. There will be a silent auction in the shelter house from 5-9 p.m. Go bid and contribute to a very worthy cause in the process.

See a complete line-up of the evening here.

In this day and age there isn’t a family that hasn’t been touched by cancer. Taking part in this annual event helps fight against the pervasive disease while offering support and understanding to those who have suffered from its effect.

Looking ahead to next week, Thursday evening Crossroads Cultural Connections will present Socks in the Frying Pan at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge. There will be a community potluck at 6 p.m. with the concert taking place at 7 p.m.

Also Thursday evening there will be a historical tour of Geneseo Oakwood Cemetery from 5-7 p.m.
