The Kewanee Hog Day Stampede and Hog Jog courses are officially opened and marked. The Hog Day Stampede Founder Nelson Lay and his assistant, Jay Cone’, marked the course for the forty-seventh time last week.

The one-mile Hog Jog starts in the 100 block of South Chestnut with the four-mile course beginning in the 200 block. The finish line is located in front of the Kewanee YMCA.

This year the US Marine Corp Band members will be taking part in the four-mile run prior to their appearance in the Hog Days Parade later that day. You can run with “The Few. The Proud. The Marines.”

Runners and walkers are encouraged to enter either the one- or four-mile event. Entry forms are available at Breedlove’s Sporting Goods locations and the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce office.
Online registration is encouraged and can be completed through www.getmeregistered.com/hogdaystampede. Forms can also be downloaded at www.kewanee-il.com and click on the Hog Day Stampede tab.
