The Kewanee Kraken swim team capped off a successful season with 15 members qualifying for the Illinois YMCA State Championship Meet. The swimmers who qualified for state were: Naomi Barbee, Lucy Bohm, Randal Engels, Everett Good, Philip Good, Eva Nance, Evelyn Nance, Paisyn McIntire, Paxton McIntire, Porter McIntire, Preslee McIntire, Bernard Porter, Bruce Porter, Lucca Quagliano amd Nolen Washburn.

The meet was held in St. John, Ind., on March 14-16. Swimmers from around that state in 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 21U age categories competed in individual and relay events.

The state event was a great honor and way to celebrate the culmination of the hard work the local swimmers put into their competitive season that began back in September of 2024.
