Two area high school students, Addison Looney and Maddux Heitzler, have been chosen by the Kewanee Elks #724 as December “Teens of the Month.”

Addison is the daughter of Jon and Amanda Looney. A senior at Wethersfield High School, her class rank is 2/36, with a GPA of 5.02/5.0.

Her four-year achievements include High Honor Roll, cheerleading, marching band, concert band, honors band, band ensemble, Key Club, FFA and Girl Scouts.

Three-year achievements are volleyball and The Kewanee Voice Student Journalism Program.

Her two-year achievements are in National Honor Society, FFA treasurer and reporter, Art Club treasurer, student council and school plays.

One-year achievements include all conference academic volleyball, NHS president and as cheerleading captain.
Her community service includes volunteering at FFA and Key Club events.

Maddux is the son of Brent and Dawn Heitzler. A senior at Annawan High School, his GPA is 3.9/4.0.

He has four-year achievements in High Honor Roll, all-conference academic football, baseball and basketball. He has three-year achievements in National Honor Society, all-conference academic basketball and baseball.

Two-year achievements include acting as captain of the basketball team. One-year achievements are as captain of the football team and first team all-state football and all-state basketball, first team all-conference basketball and second team all-conference, all state baseball and all conference two years.

His community service includes volunteering on the chain gang JFL, baseball field maintenance, the reading carnival and Grandparent’s Day.
