The League of Women Voters of the Kewanee Area is hosting an upcoming meeting that will assist voters in recognizing misinformation and disinformation.

“We’re all susceptible to misinformation, often spreading it unknowingly.  While stopping it entirely is impossible, we can learn how deception works, recognize the signs, and empower ourselves,” the LWV of the Kewanee Area wrote in a recent press release.

To find out more, people are invited to attend a talk with Professor Dan Simons from the University of Illinois, co-author of “Nobody’s Fool: Why We Get Taken In and What We Can Do About It.”

The meeting is set for Thursday, Sept. 19 from 7 to 8 pm.  People have the option to attend in person at the Kewanee Public Library or watch by Zoom from home.

To watch from home, register at northbrook.info/events (of the Northbrook Public Library).  This meeting, which is open to the public is sponsored by the Kewanee Public Library, League of Women Voters of the Kewanee Area, and League of Women Voters of Illinois (LWVIL).
